Procedures for Ph.D. Degree 博士生修業流程
一、指導教授遴聘 Selection of Dissertation Advisor
- 研究生應於一年級下學期課程結束前選定指導教授,向學院辦公室繳交指導教授同意書,選課須由指導教授簽名。指導教授應以本院專任副教授以上之教師為優先。若屆時未敦請指導教授,則由院主管會議協助選定指導教授。論文指導教授之聘請,應以理學院教師為原則。Students shall select and determine the advisor before the end of the second semester of first year by submitting the consent of advisor to the College Office. The courses selected for study shall be signed by the advisor. The College’s associate professor or above shall have the priority to be selected as advisor. If the advisor is not selected and determined, the directors meeting of the College shall assist to select. The candidates of advisor shall be teachers of the College of Science in principle.
- 博士班論文指導教授可一至二人,論文指導教授為二人時,得含校外指導教授一人,且校內外之指導教授均視同各指導一名研究生。本院教師指導博士班研究生每班至多二名,院外教師每班至多一名。指導教授聘定後,三年級修習「論文」。必要時,指導教授得推薦遴聘協同指導教授共同指導研究生。Students may have 1~2 advisor(s). When there are two advisors, students may have one outside school advisor, and each advisor shall be deemed as respectively instructing a student. The teachers of the College may instruct no more than 2 students, and the teachers outside of the college may instruct no more than 1 student. After the advisor is selected, the course of “Dissertation” shall be studied during third year. The advisor may recommend to appoint a co-advisor to jointly instruct the students.
- 研究生於就讀期間,如擬終止論文指導關係或更換論文指導教授,應以書面文件向學院辦公室提出申請,並於通知原指導教授及完成各項交接事務後生效,無須經原指導教授同意。During the study term, if the students intend to terminate the dissertation instruction relation with or change the dissertation advisor, they shall apply to the College Office by submitting a written document, which shall become effective after the advisor is informed and the affairs of handover are completed. The approval of the advisor is not required.
- 指導教授欲終止指導關係,應以書面文件,向本學院提出申請,審查結果由本院通知研究生。終止指導關係後,學院辦公室得協助研究生另覓指導教授。If advisors intent to terminate the instruction relation, they shall apply to the College Office by submitting written document, and the result of review will be informed to the student by the College. After the termination of instruction relation, the College Office may assist the student to find another advisor.
- 以同等學力入學者,須加修本博士班指定科目至少四至六學分。不得計算至本博士班畢業學分內。Students enrolled as equivalent education level shall further take courses assigned by the Institute at least by 4 to 6 credits, such courses shall not be taken into account as credits for graduation.
二、學術倫理數位課程 Digital Course of Academic Ethics
- 研究生應完成學術倫理教育線上課程並通過測驗,取得修課證明後,始能畢業。Students shall complete the on-line course of academic ethics and pass the examination. The graduation shall be permitted after obtaining the course certificate.
- 通過「學術倫理數位課程」測驗取得修課證明後,至校務行政系統登錄申請線上審核(附如件操作說明),再檢附修課證明至所辦進行檢核,始完成審核作業。Students shall complete the "Digital Course of Academic Ethics " before applying for the thesis oral examination, and after passing the test to obtain the course certificate, log in to the school administration system to apply for online review (as shown in the attached operating instructions), and then check the attached The course attendance certificate must be reviewed by the office before the review is completed.

三、博士學位候選人資格考 The degree qualification examination for Ph.D. candidates
- 博士候選人資格考試依本校博士學位候選人資格考試實施要點及理學院「應用科學國際博士班博士學位候選人資格考試實施要點」規定辦理。The degree qualification examination for Ph.D. candidates shall be made pursuant to the National Pingtung University Guidelines for the Administration of the Ph.D. Degree Qualification Examination and Guidelines for the Administration of the Ph.D. Degree Qualification Examination in Applied Science of College of Science.
- 博士班研究生修業滿三學期,且至少應修畢本博士班課程二十一學分(含必修學分,不含論文六學分),始得申請資格考試。The students of Ph.D. program may apply for the qualification examination after completing three semesters of studies, and at least have completed 21 credits of the courses of Ph.D. Program (including obligatory courses, but excluding 6 credits of the course of dissertation).

各專業領域訂定各領域之實施細則,研究生得分組選修之專業課程領域,選擇前列項目其中一項領域,依其細則所訂定之規定進行考試。The enforcement rules for each scope shall be regulated by each department. Students may select one of the scopes set forth above for study, and take the examination according to the stipulations of the enforcement rules.

- 申請資格考學科筆試時間,自研究生完成該學期註冊手續起,不含休學之八個學期內,在學期間於本博士班公告時間內,由研究生向本博士班提出申請。Time for the application for written qualification examination starts from the semester of which the registration completed, within 8 semesters excluding the suspension, and the application shall be submitted by students to the Institute within the announced period during the study term.
- 筆試成績以七十分為及格標準,博士班研究生經資格考試成績及格後,由本院送請教務處登錄於成績表,並由本博士班提出為博士候選人。The qualification standards for written examination shall be 70 points. After students passed the qualification examination, the examination result shall be sent to the Academic Affairs Division by the College, and the students shall be nominated as Ph.D. candidate.
四、申請論文研究計畫發表 Dissertation Research Plan Application
- 申請學生須通過博士候選人資格考試,才能提出論文計畫考試之申請。The dissertation research plan is only open to students who have passed the doctorate degree qualification examination.
- 研究生應於論文研究計畫發表二星期前繳交:Two weeks before the presentation of dissertation research plan, students shall submit:
- 研究生論文研究計畫發表申請單1份(經指導教授同意) One copy of Dissertation Research Plan Application Form(students shall obtain the approval of the advisor)
- 論文研究計畫6份(1份給院辦,另5份給委員) Six copies of dissertation research plan (one for the College Office, five for the committees)
- 學術倫理修課證明(Chinese and English) Academic Research Ethics Education Certificate of Completion

四、申請論文口試研究生申請碩士口試 Thesis Oral Examination
- 研究生碩士論文口試,應於論文計畫通過六個月後,檢附成績證明、參與學術活動紀錄卡(超過15點),經指導教授及院主管會議審核後始能進行口試事宜。
Six months after passing the research plan, students shall provide grade certificate, and academic activities participation record card (more than 15 points) to apply for oral thesis examination. The oral examination shall be processed after the review of the advisor and the directors meeting of the College.
繳交文件 Students shall submit:

- 研究生應於論文口試前三星期繳交:
Three weeks before the oral thesis examination, students shall submit:
(1)論文口試申請書1份。
One copy of Thesis Examination Application.
(2)論文口試本1本。
One copy of Thesis.
(3)論文考試委員推薦書1份。
One copy of Master’s Thesis Examination Committee Member Recommendation.
(4)英文檢定。
English Proficiency Test.
(5)論文口試委員評分表3份。
Three copies of Thesis Examination Scoring Form.
(6)學位論文成績繳送單1份。
One copy of Thesis Grade Submitting Form.
(7)論文口試合格簽名頁1份。
One copy of Thesis Approval Certificate.
(8) 論文比對結果 。

研究生申請論文口試前,應經本校圖書館規定之論文比對系統比對,其相似度指數需為百分之三十以下,並經指導教授簽名。
Before students apply for oral thesis examination, the thesis shall be compared through thesis comparison system provided by the laboratory; the index of similarity shall be less than 30%, and signed by the advisor.

(2)圖書館「快刀中文原創性比對系統」以中文撰寫論文者適用。Written in Chinese.

- 口試當天請將「論文成績繳送單」、「研究生論文口試簽到單」、「論文口試合格簽名頁」、「碩士論文口試評分表」,給每位委員親筆簽名。
On the day of the thesis oral examination, please hand over the " Thesis Grade Submitting Form ", " Thesis Examination Sign-in Sheet ", " Thesis Approval Certificate ", and " Thesis Defense Scoring Form " to each member for their signature.
五、辦理離校手續Graduation (School Leaving) Application procedures

(一)、畢業條件:Graduation Requirement
- 研究生論文口試通過。Passing the thesis oral examination.
- 完成畢業門檻。Completing the graduation requirements.
- 修得總學分三十學分,其中包括必修課程四學分、論文六學分及選修研究所課程二十學分。Students shall complete 30 credits in total, including 4 credits of obligatory courses, 6 credits of master’s thesis, and 20 credits of the graduate school elective courses.
(二)各學年度離校截止日期與時間School Leaving deadlines and times for each academic year:
依學校規定,第一學期(上學期)離校最晚期限為第二學期(下學期)開學日前平常日;第二學期(下學期)為8月15日(遇假日則另行更告知)。未依規定期限完成離校程序視為該學期未畢業,即延畢(逾期未辦妥離校手續者,視同該學期未畢業,其未達修業年限者,次學期仍應註冊,並於次學期結束前辦妥畢業離校手續,否則該學位考試以不及格論,依規定退學)。
According to the school's regulations, the latest deadline for leaving school in the first semester is the usual day before the start of the second semester; the second semester is August 15 (if it is a holiday, the deadline will be changed). If the student does not complete the graduation procedures by the prescribed deadline, he/she will be considered as not having graduated in that semester and will be deferred. If the student fails to complete the graduation procedures before the deadline, he/she will be considered as not having graduated in that semester, and he/she should still register for the next semester and complete the graduation procedures before the end of the next semester. Otherwise, the student will fail the degree examination and withdrawn from the program in accordance with the regulations).
(三)離校流程(可同時進行1、2及3)School Leaving process(can be done step 1, 2 amd 3 simultaneously):
- 研究生論文口試後依口試委員意見修改內容。
Modify the thesis according to the opinions of the oral examination committee members. - 研究生論文口試後請至本校「校務行政系統-學生資訊系統」→「﹝H01﹞離校手續」申請線上離校手續,上傳論文上傳同意書、論文比對報告,申請後則由各單位線上進行審核(含系辦、系主任、指導教授、校友服務組及圖書館等)。After the oral examination, please go to the school's "School Administration System - Student Information System" → "﹝H01﹞School Leaving Procedures" for Application. Upload ''E-dissertation/thesis Upload Consent'' and ''Thesis Comparison (Signed by the supervisor)''. After the application, it will be reviewed online by each unit (including the department office, department chair, advisor, alumni service group and library, etc.)

指導教授確認後,進行「論文比對(中文論文快刀)、(英文論文turnitin)」比對,結果相似度需30%(含)以下,並請指導教授於空白處親筆簽名。簽名(請親筆簽名,勿電子簽章)後請掃描成電子圖檔(或拍照)並至「校務行政系統-學生資訊系統→B36畢業門檻管理→B3603S畢業門檻申請作業→論文比對」進行上傳,並由圖書館進行線上審核,審核結果以email通知。
After the dissertation is confirmed by the advisor. Please conduct the "dissertation comparison (Chinese dissertation: Paper Plagiarism Verify System), (English dissertation: Turnitin)". The similarity of the comparison results should be less than 30% (inclusive). The signature of the advisor in the empty place.After signing (Please sign in person, do not sign electronically), please scan it into an electronic image file (or take a photo) and upload it to "School Administration System-Student Information Syste→B36_Graduation Threshold Management→B3603S Graduation Threshold Application Homework→Thesis Comparison", and the library will conduct online review. Review results will be notified by email.

- 完成論文上傳(含論文比對上傳、論文上傳同意書)後,並通過圖書館審核後,即可印出「論文本」至少4本(註冊組1本、院辦1本、圖書館2本),增加之本數請自行決定。After uploading the dissertation (including the dissertation comparison and the dissertation consent form) is completed, and passing the review of the library, at least 4 copies of the "dissertation" can be printed (1 for the registration section, 1 for the department office, and 2 for the library). Please make your own decision on the number of additional ones.
- 如需延後公開,請填寫【論文延後公開申請書】,並準備相關證明文件,至少4份(圖書館2份、系所辦公室1份、註冊組1份)。If you need to delay public your paper, please fill in the Application for Embargo of Thesis/Dissertation and prepare relevant documents at least 4 copies.
